Wisconsin Club, downtown Milwaukee

Join us for this educational women’s luncheon. Each year, this event features a relevant mental health and wellness topic that will provide you with expert advice and valuable tips that will inspire your mind long after the event has ended.

About

Thanks to the proceeds from this year’s event, the Spiritual Care department at Rogers Behavioral Health will receive $65,000 to ensure that our patients have access to spiritual care resources as a part their treatment program. Consider how these resources play a role in recovery:

“I just wanted to let you know you have been truly amazing! You helped me figure out so many things that I’ve struggled with for so long. You helped me understand and grasp the concept of grace and apply that, as well as God’s love, to my own life. Thank you so much!”

2019 Highlights

Emerging from despair: Overcoming mental health challenges after loss

That’s what 336 guests came to learn about at the 15th Annual Women’s Gathering on May 21, 2019 held at the Wisconsin Club in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

After the welcome reception and lunch, the program began with Peggy Scallon, MD, FAPA, medical director of Focus Depression Recovery Adolescent Residential Care at Rogers Behavioral Health. Her presentation featured the differences between healthy and unhealthy responses to the grieving process and how, for some people, grief can serve as a trigger for more serious mental health challenges. Dr. Scallon then offered expert advice on how to determine if someone you love may require professional help.

Afterward, mission moment speakers Abi and her mother, Karen, took the stage to share their powerful story of hope and resilience after experiencing the tragic loss of their father and husband to suicide. Guests were inspired by Karen as she spoke about gathering the strength needed to pull herself and four children out of the darkness and how Rogers Behavioral Health and faith played a role in helping Abi overcome her mental health challenges and re-discover the beauty of life worth living.

Spiritual Care

All proceeds from the 15th Annual Women’s Gathering support the Spiritual Care program at Rogers Behavioral Health.

The purpose of Rogers Behavioral Health is to care for one’s mental health challenges to help people live healthy and productive lives again. The spiritual care program offers an additional resource for healing – it touches one’s soul and inspires hope when there is none.

Supported 100% by the Foundation, spiritual care is provided to patients at no cost as a part of an individual’s treatment process. Thanks in part from the proceeds of the Women’s Gathering, patients may choose to attend spiritual care reflection groups, visit the chapel and resource library, meet individually with one of our chaplains, attend on-site ecumenical worship services, receive transportation to local churches, and request visits from community clergy.

“I just wanted to let you know you have been truly an amazing help to me. You helped me figure out so many things that I’ve struggled with for so long. You helped me understand and grasp the concept of grace and apply that, as well as God’s love, to my own life. Thank you so much!”
